Why The Empress carries Venus

Venus governs attraction, value and pleasure, and The Empress is the deck's card of abundance that produces rather than merely enjoys. She sits on cushions in a field of ripe wheat with a stream running behind her, and the shield at her side carries the Venus glyph — the attribution is stated on the card itself.
