Cards & Stars is a daily tarot reading placed against the real sky — the Moon's actual phase and sign, and the transits genuinely running that day — together with a reference library covering all 78 cards across several traditions.

Why it exists

Most tarot sites give you one sentence per card and a sign-up form. Most astrology sites never touch the cards. The interesting ground is where the two meet: what it means that this card came up under this moon, on this date, with these planets retrograde.

So the daily reading is free and public — you can read every word of it without an account — and the card library is written to be genuinely useful whether or not you ever subscribe.

Several traditions, not one

The card meanings here draw on the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition, the older Marseille lineage, Etteilla's system, and the Golden Dawn correspondences that Thoth decks inherit. These traditions frequently disagree — about reversals, about which planet rules which card, sometimes about what a card is called. Rather than pick one and present it as fact, the pages set them side by side and say where the disagreement lies.

How the readings are made

We are explicit about the method, including the parts that are usually left vague: the card is a genuine random draw, the astronomical data is computed from a real ephemeris, and the interpretive text is written by a language model from those inputs.
