Moon in Cancer

The Moon ruling the third decan of its own sign is the most purely lunar ten degrees in the zodiac, and the card is the Four of Cups, Lord of Blended Pleasure. A figure sits under a tree with three cups before him and a fourth offered from a cloud, which he is not looking at. The Moon in Cancer doubles inwardness, and this is what that looks like when it goes too far: sufficiency experienced as boredom, and an offer missed through inattention rather than refusal. It is the most accurate card in the deck for a certain kind of dissatisfaction that has no external cause.

Using this decan for timing

As a timing decan this one is static by design. The Four of Cups answering 'when' means the situation is not moving and will not move until attention shifts, which makes it one of the few cards that answers a timing question with a condition rather than a date.

Where it sits in Cancer

Cancer spans thirty degrees and divides into three decans, each with its own ruler and its own card from the Suit of Cups. This one is the closing ten degrees.
