Jupiter in Gemini expands the sign of the twins, which mostly means expanding the number of things being considered at once. The Eight of Swords, Lord of Shortened Force, sits here: a bound and blindfolded figure among eight swords, with her feet free and the bindings loose. Jupiter's role is to enlarge the sense of constraint beyond its actual size. Read this decan as a restriction that is real but considerably smaller than it feels from inside - and note that in the image nothing prevents walking out except not having established that it is possible.

In timing, Gemini 1 reads as a delay that is partly self-imposed. The Eight of Swords answering 'when' usually means the obstacle is a decision not yet made rather than a date not yet reached. Paired with the Two of Swords the stall doubles; paired with the Six of Swords it starts to move.
